Yay!  Downtime is done - a whole two and a half hours ahead of the deadline.  Would have been sooner, only I forgot the existence of my men at arms.  Oopsie.

Anyway childishly happy because:
  1. New icon [info]endis_ni made me
  2. Cool stuff my retainer has been given to play with
  3. [info]newvani's working on a pic of Ixtli
  4. I spoke to a customer called Mr Ullah, and it was all I could do not to burst into Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds all afternoon.
  5. I'm listening to bouncy REM too loud

Now all I need to do is get packed for the Lions.  Which would involve finishing the unpacking from Maelstrom.  D'oh.

Thought for the day:

Why is it that even permanent hair dye won't stay in my hair longer than a day, but Snaz gives me a yellow hairline and eyebrows for weeks?

A great event this weekend.  Good to see everyone, and thanks to everyone actively involved.
Yet more people tried to philosophically persuade me necromancy was OK.  I think it must be some kind of dare or rite of passage ("Naah, you won't count as a proper man until you go and try to persuade someone necromancy's OK for 10 minutes.  That priest of Waspor will do". *Snurk*).
And somehow I ended up playing charades.  As part of my usual sunny co-operative self I just ended up shouting Waspor occasionally, which went OK, until that was actually the correct answer.  Then [info]electrokin drew me the next charade (little bits of paper in a hat and huge claws don't mix) and if I hadn't seen him do it blind, I'd have been sure he picked "Merisusi" on purpose.
Then, in light of the cake competition, there was Lady Justine trying to explain human cooking over dinner.  She seemed to think meat pie would be a good compromise between human niceties and an almost entirely carnivorous Tlaxti diet.  And for my part, I think she is probably right.  However my character's interpretation of "stew contained in cake because apparently they can't just use a plate or something" may mean I confine my IC cooking to LT events.
Not to mention [info]misterdaniel's epic philosophical treatise, of which I will not say any more because I wouldn't want to spoil any surprises.  I'll just say that OOC I thought it was genius, and IC I'm not sure what to think of him.
There was a weird moment where we all got excited about something which broke the rules of our known universe, before a slightly embarrassing moment where I realised the same rule-breaking might also apply to me.  Followed by some hyperactive emailing at PD for clarification when I got home.

Got back to reality and think I prefer unreality.  Another of my friends from work is being threatened maliciously being ill.  I've still got the same faint mysterious one-sided stomach ache I've had for 5 days.  And *some git has stolen my book*!  I left it in the dining room at work on Wednesday during my break and ten minutes later it was gone.  I assumed someone had just picked it up by mistake, or out of boredom and would put it back in a day or two.  It's been 5 days!  I want it back!  Goddamit I was in the middle of reading that!  Surely the bookmark in the middle would have been a clue?!  I know the thing cost me about £2, and wasn't brilliant, but it did feature Glaaki who is big and spiky and lives in a lake and has undead minions which regularly beat the crap out of us when we play Arkham Horror GODDAMIT!

Back to reality...

Note to self:

*Must-not-talk-like-Wasp-with-bad-syntax-down-phone-at-customers-of-Jobcentre-Plus
*Must resist urge to barge aggressively through colleagues in corridors
*Must resist urge to hit colleagues in back while shouting "single through" while not doing previous
*Must stop speculating which bits of office would count as enclosed space for purposes of consecration rules
*Must stop feeling naked while not wearing talisman which gives extra death count (Civil Servants rarely put me into death count anyways)
*Must resist urge to tell callers they are being stupid and will be purged
*Must stop hunching over and swinging arms around like I'm wearing wrist claws while walking to get printouts from printer
*Must stop worrying about smudging coat of yellow makeup while drinking tea.

That is all...

So still not entirely packed for the event this weekend, but I do now have hair with a lightened streak in the centre and black stripes running through that. This isn't as shockingly visible as you'd imagine. As a note, this is entirely for my secondary character - a wemmic in a tiger mask I nicked off  [info]fatkraken (the mask not the wemmic - I haven't found where she keeps her stash of wemmics yet). Not because I'm convinced I'm going to die (any more than usual), I was just bored.

Now the thing which probably means my primary is going to die is that I've got some shiny shiny claws which Richard made me for my birthday. This does also mean I can never again pick my nose with impunity, but hey, we all have to make sacrifices. Once a day at midnight if you listen to Hive of the Wasp. (Personally I'm more flexible).

I've also heard vague rumours about interesting things which may or may not be happening with natives system-wise, which I hope are true because they just bring up so many interesting questions.  But we shall see...  Sorry to be cryptic - I suspect I'm not 100% supposed to know about it.  And it means I can go #I know something you don't#...
